Computers, individuals and organizations all process information, Discovery Informatics encompasses the analysis of information processes and communication and includes three distinct concepts: Information Technology, Cognitive processes and Social attributes.

  • Information Technology – the use of a computer and analysis of methods for acquiring, storing, processing, and communicating information.
  • Cognitive relates to the process of acquiring knowledge through reasoning, intuition, or perception.
  • Social aspects relating elements of human nature, how individuals and groups behave and interact; including the influence of information technologies.
